The whole buying-and-feeding loop is way more stressful than I expected, in the best way. Watching a baby monster grow into something huge and then trying to match it to a picky customer had our group arguing for an hour straight.
The pet shop theme is way more fun than I expected, and raising the baby monsters through feeding and cleaning phases keeps everyone at the table engaged. Turns move fast once you learn the worker placement, so our group of four finished a game in about 90 minutes.
The whole gimmick of feeding and cleaning up after baby monsters had my group laughing for three hours straight. Scoring points for how well your pet does at the exhibition is genuinely tense, and the imp cards keep every round unpredictable. Best purchase I've made this year.
