Codenames: Pictures – 5x5 Tiles is a set of five tiles (two agents and three bystanders) that were originally available at Gen Con 2016 when purchasing Codenames: Pictures.
This promo pack is compatible with the first edition of Codenames Pictures. The colors of the tiles are different in the new edition.
Wasn't sure five tiles would matter much, but the two extra agents really do shake up our usual 5x5 grid. Nice that it matches the first edition art perfectly, so nothing looks off on the table.
Slid the two extra agents and three bystanders right into my copy and they blend in perfectly, no color mismatch at all. The 5x5 layout still works the same, so nobody at the table even noticed we were playing with promo tiles.
Wasn't sure these five extra tiles would matter much, but the two agent and three bystander mix actually shakes up the 5x5 grid nicely. They blend right in with the base game and add just enough unpredictability to keep our group guessing.
