Claiming pulsars on the board feels way more satisfying than it should. The tech tiles give you so many different paths to points that no two games have played out the same for us, and setup is quick enough that we get it to the table on weeknights.
Claiming pulsars with your dice feels way more strategic than I expected, since every roll forces a real tradeoff between actions. The energy-distribution board ties everything together nicely and games stay tight at around 90 minutes with four players. My group has already requested a rematch twice
The action-dice mechanism for buying tech upgrades is such a clever twist — it makes every turn a gamble without feeling random. I’ve played it three nights in a row and the pulsar-claiming map never plays out the same way twice.
