The house cards add a fun layer since each team secretly roots for a different dorm, and the artwork on the location tiles genuinely feels like wandering the castle. Played it with four people who'd never touched the original and everyone picked it up in one round.
The prefect vs first-year twist on the classic grid mechanic makes it feel fresh even for people who've played the original to death. We got a full table arguing over the Dumbledore clue card for twenty minutes, which is exactly what I wanted from a themed version.
Took this to game night and the Hogwarts castle layout adds way more strategy than the original version. The two-sided board keeps it fresh, and guessing which house a clue points to had everyone arguing in the best way.
