Codenames Promo Pack: What Cards Are Included?

Quick answer

The Codenames CGE Promo Pack includes ten additional double-sided word cards themed around other Czech Games Edition titles, but it is designed only for the first edition of Codenames.

FAQ: What's in the Codenames Promo Pack?

How many cards are in the pack?

The promo pack includes ten double-sided word cards, giving you 20 additional word sides to use in your games.

What themes are on the cards?

The cards feature words related to other Czech Games Edition titles, such as Galaxy Trucker, Dungeon Lords, and more. They are designed to blend seamlessly with the first edition's word list.

Can I use this pack with the second edition?

The card size is the same, but the design is slightly different. This may cause players to give clues based on visual cues rather than word meanings, so it is not recommended for second edition owners. If you have the second edition, consider whether your group might be distracted by the visual mismatch.

Is this pack worth adding?

For first edition owners who play Codenames regularly, the promo pack offers a low-cost way to refresh the word pool with themed content. At a catalog price of $3.04 (compared to $4.99), it is an affordable addition.
