The two-to-four player mode sold me since our group can never agree on a headcount, and it works great either as teams or free-for-all. Turns are quick, so nobody sits around waiting, and the whole match wraps up in under an hour.

Played my first two-player game and the goal cards make every turn feel like a puzzle you're racing to solve before your opponent does. The summoning pieces are chunky and satisfying to place, and games wrap up in under an hour so it hits the table way more often than my other strategy games.

The team mode turns this into something totally different from your usual abstract strategy game — my partner and I spent an hour just figuring out how to chain our summoning combos together. Turns are quick, the board never feels cluttered, and losing still feels like you learned something.
