Quick Answer

The Starship Captains Convention Visit Promo Card is a collectible promo originally distributed at SPIEL 2024, designed to add a special encounter to your Starship Captains games.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Convention Visit Promo Card do in the game?

The card introduces a new encounter that can be shuffled into your Starship Captains game deck. It provides a unique event that players can draw during their missions, adding variety to each play session.

Do I need the base Starship Captains game to use this promo?

Yes. The promo card is designed exclusively for use with the Starship Captains board game. It is not a standalone item and requires the base game components to function.

Is this promo card still available if I didn't attend SPIEL 2024?

Yes. Although it debuted at SPIEL 2024, the card is now sold separately through retailers like Czech Games Edition. You do not need to have attended the convention to purchase it. Check availability online if you missed the original event.

How should I store this promo card to keep it in good condition?

Use a standard card sleeve that fits the Starship Captains deck size, and store it in a deck box or binder away from direct sunlight and moisture. This protects the card from wear during gameplay and preserves its collector value. Sleeving is recommended for both play and display.

Can I use this card in tournament or organized play?

Starship Captains does not have an official tournament circuit, so the card is intended for casual home games. Check with your local game group if they allow promo cards in house rules.
