Quick answer
If you want a single, focused addition that adds a unique divination effect, grab the Soothsayer's Runes promo card. If you prefer maximum variety and strategic options for roughly the same price per card, the four-card Promo Pack delivers more value.
What each option brings to your game
The Soothsayer's Runes promo card was originally offered as part of Pack C from the Dice Tower 2021 Kickstarter campaign, making it a distinctive collectible for dedicated fans. It adds one new card to your deck, introducing a divination-themed ability that can shift your strategy in a single turn.
The Promo Pack includes four exclusive cards: Soothsayer's Runes, Rat, Alicorn, and Saxophone. This set gives you a broader toolkit without needing to hunt for individual promos. Each card brings a different effect, so you can experiment with new combos and adapt to different expedition challenges.
Trade-offs to consider
Buying the single Soothsayer's Runes card costs less upfront (around $1.91) and is ideal if you only want that specific card. However, you miss out on the other three promos, which may offer abilities that better suit your play style.
The Promo Pack costs about $8.39 but includes four cards, so the per-card price is lower. The trade-off is that you pay more at once, and if you already own some of these cards, you may end up with duplicates.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Soothsayer's Runes (single card): Costs about $1.91. Adds one unique promo card with a divination effect. Originally from the Dice Tower 2021 Kickstarter. Best for collectors or players who want exactly this card and nothing else.
- Promo Pack (four cards): Costs about $8.39. Includes Soothsayer's Runes, Rat, Alicorn, and Saxophone. All four cards are compatible with the base game. Best value per card and gives you more strategic options from the start.
- Which to choose?: If you only want the Soothsayer's Runes effect and don't mind missing the other three, buy the single card. If you want the full promo experience and don't already own any of these cards, the Promo Pack is the smarter buy.
